ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਧੰਨਿ ਓਇ ਭਵਨਾ ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਬਸਾਰੇ ॥
dha(n)n su thaan dha(n)n oi bhavanaa jaa meh sa(n)t basaare ||
Blessed is that place, and blessed is that house, in which the Saints dwell.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੪੦॥
jan naanak kee saradhaa poorahu Thaakur bhagat tere namasakaare ||2||9||40||
Fulfill this desire of servant Nanak, O Lord Master, that he may bow in reverence to Your devotees. ||2||9||40||
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:
ਛਡਾਇ ਲੀਓ ਮਹਾ ਬਲੀ ਤੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥
chhaddai leeo mahaa balee te apane charan paraat ||
He has saved me from the awful power of Maya, by attaching me to His feet.
ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਨ ਮੰਤਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
ek naam dheeo man ma(n)taa binas na katahoo jaat ||1||
He gave my mind the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the One Lord, which shall never perish or leave me. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
satigur poorai keenee dhaat ||
The Perfect True Guru has given this gift.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਉ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਗਾਤਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam dheeo keeratan kau bhiee hamaaree gaat || rahaau ||
He has blessed me with the Kirtan of the Praises of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and I am emancipated. ||Pause||
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਤਿ ॥
a(n)geekaar keeo prabh apunai bhagatan kee raakhee paat ||
My God has made me His own, and saved the honor of His devotee.
ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੪੧॥
naanak charan gahe prabh apane sukh paio dhin raat ||2||10||41||
Nanak has grasped the feet of his God, and has found peace, day and night. ||2||10||41||
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:
ਪਰ ਹਰਨਾ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦ ਇਵ ਹੀ ਕਰਤ ਗੁਦਾਰੀ ॥
par haranaa lobh jhooTh ni(n)dh iv hee karat gudhaaree ||
Stealing the property of others, acting in greed, lying and slandering - in these ways, he passes his life.
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਆਸ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੀਠੀ ਇਹ ਟੇਕ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
mirag tirasanaa aas mithiaa meeThee ieh Tek maneh saadhaaree ||1||
He places his hopes in false mirages, believing them to be sweet; this is the support he installs in his mind. ||1||
ਸਾਕਤ ਕੀ ਆਵਰਦਾ ਜਾਇ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾਰੀ ॥
saakat kee aavaradhaa jai birathaaree ||
The faithless cynic passes his life uselessly.
ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਗਦ ਕੇ ਭਾਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਟੂਕਿ ਗਵਾਵਤ ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaise kaagadh ke bhaar moosaa Took gavaavat kaam nahee gaavaaree || rahaau ||
He is like the mouse, gnawing away at the pile of paper, making it useless to the poor wretch. ||Pause||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਹ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਟਕਾਰੀ ॥
kar kirapaa paarabraham suaamee ieh ba(n)dhan chhuTakaaree ||
Have mercy on me, O Supreme Lord God, and release me from these bonds.
ਬੂਡਤ ਅੰਧ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਢਤ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੪੨॥
booddat a(n)dh naanak prabh kaaddat saadh janaa sa(n)gaaree ||2||11||42||
The blind are sinking, O Nanak; God saves them, uniting them with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||11||42||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੀਤਲ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਛਾਤੀ ॥
simar simar suaamee prabh apanaa seetal tan man chhaatee ||
Remembering, remembering God, the Lord Master in meditation, my body, mind and heart are cooled and soothed.
ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸੂਖ ਧਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੋਰੈ ਜਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
roop ra(n)g sookh dhan jeea kaa paarabraham morai jaatee ||1||
The Supreme Lord God is my beauty, pleasure, peace, wealth, soul and social status. ||1||
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਨਿ ਮਾਤੀ ॥
rasanaa raam rasain maatee ||
My tongue is intoxicated with the Lord, the source of nectar.
ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੀ ਰਾਮ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੈ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਥਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ra(n)g ra(n)gee raam apane kai charan kamal nidh thaatee || rahaau ||
I am in love, in love with the Lord's lotus feet, the treasure of riches. ||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਭਾਤੀ ॥
jis kaa saa tin hee rakh leeaa pooran prabh kee bhaatee ||
I am His - He has saved me; this is God's perfect way.
ਮੇਲਿ ਲੀਓ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੪੩॥
mel leeo aape sukhadhaatai naanak har raakhee paatee ||2||12||43||
The Giver of peace has blended Nanak with Himself; the Lord has preserved his honor. ||2||12||43||

ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਮਨ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਨਿਵਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
dhoot dhusaman sabh tujh te nivareh pragaT prataap tumaaraa ||
All demons and enemies are eradicated by You, Lord; Your glory is manifest and radiant.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੁਖਾਏ ਓਹੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
jo jo tere bhagat dhukhaae oh tatakaal tum maaraa ||1||
Whoever harms Your devotees, You destroy in an instant. ||1||
ਨਿਰਖਉ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥
nirakhau tumaree or har neet ||
I look to You continually, Lord.
ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਸਹਾਇ ਹੋਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਉਧਰਹੁ ਮੀਤ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
muraar sahai hoh dhaas kau kar geh udharahu meet || rahaau ||
O Lord, Destroyer of ego, please, be the helper and companion of Your slaves; take my hand, and save me, O my Friend! ||Pause||
ਸੁਣੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਖਸਮਾਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਆਪਿ ॥
sunee benatee Thaakur merai khasamaanaa kar aap ||
My Lord and Master has heard my prayer, and given me His protection.
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦ ਭਏ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੪੪॥
naanak anadh bhe dhukh bhaage sadhaa sadhaa har jaap ||2||13||44||
Nanak is in ecstasy, and his pains are gone; he meditates on the Lord, forever and ever. ||2||13||44||

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:
ਚਤੁਰ ਦਿਸਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਲੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਰੁ ਧਾਰਿਓ ॥
chatur dhisaa keeno bal apanaa sir uoopar kar dhaario ||
He has extended His power in all four directions, and placed His hand upon my head.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਟਾਖੵ ਅਵਲੋਕਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥
kirapaa kaTaakhaye avalokan keeno dhaas kaa dhookh bidhaario ||1||
Gazing upon me with his Eye of Mercy, He has dispelled the pains of His slave. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
har jan raakhe gur govi(n)dh ||
The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, has saved the Lord's humble servant.
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਸਭਿ ਮੇਟੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਖਸੰਦ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ka(n)Th lai avagun sabh meTe dhiaal purakh bakhasa(n)dh || rahaau ||
Hugging me close in His embrace, the merciful, forgiving Lord has erased all my sins. ||Pause||
ਜੋ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਤੇ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਦੇਵੈ ॥
jo maageh Thaakur apune te soiee soiee dhevai ||
Whatever I ask for from my Lord and Master, he gives that to me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਸਚੁ ਹੋਵੈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੪੫॥
naanak dhaas mukh te jo bolai ieehaa uoohaa sach hovai ||2||14||45||
Whatever the Lord's slave Nanak utters with his mouth, proves to be true, here and hereafter. ||2||14||45||
