ਹਰਿ ਭਰਿਪੁਰੇ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
har bharipure rahiaa ||
The Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere;
ਜਲਿ ਥਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jal thale raam naam ||
the Name of the Lord is pervading the water and the land.
ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nit gaieeaai har dhookh bisaarano ||1|| rahaau ||
So sing continuously of the Lord, the Dispeller of pain. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
har keeaa hai safal janam hamaaraa ||
The Lord has made my life fruitful and rewarding.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
har japiaa har dhookh bisaaranahaaraa ||
I meditate on the Lord, the Dispeller of pain.
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
gur bheTiaa hai mukat dhaataa ||
I have met the Guru, the Giver of liberation.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
har keeiee hamaaree safal jaataa ||
The Lord has made my life's journey fruitful and rewarding.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥੧॥
mil sa(n)gatee gun gaavano ||1||
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ॥
man raam naam kar aasaa ||
O mortal, place your hopes in the Name of the Lord,
ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥
bhaau dhoojaa binas binaasaa ||
and your love of duality shall simply vanish.
ਵਿਚਿ ਆਸਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ॥
vich aasaa hoi niraasee ||
One who, in hope, remains unattached to hope,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸੀ ॥
so jan miliaa har paasee ||
such a humble being meets with his Lord.
ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥
koiee raam naam gun gaavano ||
And one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਗਿ ਲਾਵਨੋ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥੪॥੬॥੭॥੧੭॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮੋਹੁ ॥
nadharee aavai tis siau moh ||
He is attached to what he sees.
ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤੋਹਿ ॥
kiau mileeaai prabh abinaasee toh ||
How can I meet You, O Imperishable God?
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
kar kirapaa moh maarag paavahu ||
Have Mercy upon me, and place me upon the Path;
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
saadhasa(n)gat kai a(n)chal laavahu ||1||
let me be attached to the hem of the robe of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
kiau tareeaai bikhiaa sa(n)saar ||
How can I cross over the poisonous world-ocean?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satigur bohith paavai paar ||1|| rahaau ||
The True Guru is the boat to carry us across. ||1||Pause||
ਪਵਨ ਝੁਲਾਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਇ ॥
pavan jhulaare maiaa dhei ||
The wind of Maya blows and shakes us,
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੇਇ ॥
har ke bhagat sadhaa thir sei ||
but the Lord's devotees remain ever-stable.
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥
harakh sog te raheh niraaraa ||
They remain unaffected by pleasure and pain.
ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
sir uoopar aap guroo rakhavaaraa ||2||
The Guru Himself is the Savior above their heads. ||2||
ਪਾਇਆ ਵੇੜੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਰਬ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਾ ॥
paiaa veR maiaa sarab bhuia(n)gaa ||
Maya, the snake, holds all in her coils.
ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚੇ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੰਗਾ ॥
haumai pache dheepak dhekh pata(n)gaa ||
They burn to death in egotism, like the moth lured by seeing the flame.
ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
sagal seegaar kare nahee paavai ||
They make all sorts of decorations, but they do not find the Lord.
ਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
jaa hoi kirapaal taa guroo milaavai ||3||
When the Guru becomes Merciful, He leads them to meet the Lord. ||3||
ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਇਕੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਦਸਾਇਆ ॥
hau firau udhaasee mai ik ratan dhasaiaa ||
I wander around, sad and depressed, seeking the jewel of the One Lord.
ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
niramolak heeraa milai na upaiaa ||
This priceless jewel is not obtained by any efforts.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਲੁ ॥
har kaa ma(n)dhar tis meh laal ||
That jewel is within the body, the Temple of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੪॥
gur kholiaa paRadhaa dhekh bhiee nihaal ||4||
The Guru has torn away the veil of illusion, and beholding the jewel, I am delighted. ||4||
ਜਿਨਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਦੁ ॥
jin chaakhiaa tis aaiaa saadh ||
One who has tasted it, comes to know its flavor;
ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥
jiau goo(n)gaa man meh bisamaadh ||
he is like the mute, whose mind is filled with wonder.
ਆਨਦ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
aanadh roop sabh nadharee aaiaa ||
I see the Lord, the source of bliss, everywhere.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਆਖਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੧॥
jan naanak har gun aakh samaiaa ||5||1||
Servant Nanak speaks the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and merges in Him. ||5||1||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕੀਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
sarab kaliaan ke'ee gurdhev ||
The Divine Guru has blessed me with total happiness.
ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਲਾਇਓ ਸੇਵ ॥
sevak apanee laio sev ||
He has linked His servant to His service.
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥੧॥
bighan na laagai jap alakh abhev ||1||
No obstacles block my path, meditating on the incomprehensible, inscrutable Lord. ||1||
ਧਰਤਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਭਈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥
dharat puneet bhiee gun gaae ||
The soil has been sanctified, singing the Glories of His Praises.
ਦੁਰਤੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhurat giaa har naam dhiaae ||1|| rahaau ||
The sins are eradicated, meditating on the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਂਈ ਰਵਿਆ ਆਪਿ ॥
sabhanee thaa(n)iee raviaa aap ||
He Himself is pervading everywhere;
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥
aadh jugaadh jaa kaa vadd parataap ||
from the very beginning, and throughout the ages, His Glory has been radiantly manifest.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੨॥
gur parasaadh na hoi sa(n)taap ||2||
By Guru's Grace, sorrow does not touch me. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠੇ ॥
gur ke charan lage man meeThe ||
The Guru's Feet seem so sweet to my mind.
ਨਿਰਬਿਘਨ ਹੋਇ ਸਭ ਥਾਂਈ ਵੂਠੇ ॥
nirabighan hoi sabh thaa(n)iee vooThe ||
He is unobstructed, dwelling everywhere.
ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੂਠੇ ॥੩॥
sabh sukh paae satigur tooThe ||3||
I found total peace, when the Guru was pleased. ||3||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ॥
paarabraham prabh bhe rakhavaale ||
The Supreme Lord God has become my Savior.
ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
jithai kithai dheeseh naale ||
Wherever I look, I see Him there with me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਖਸਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak dhaas khasam pratipaale ||4||2||
O Nanak, the Lord and Master protects and cherishes His slaves. ||4||2||

ਸੁਖ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
sukh nidhaan preetam prabh mere ||
You are the treasure of peace, O my Beloved God.
