ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਆ ॥
jai jai kaar jagatr meh locheh sabh jeeaa ||
Triumphant cheers greet me all across the world, and all beings yearn for me.
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥
suprasa(n)n bhe satigur prabhoo kachh bighan na theeaa ||1||
The True Guru and God are totally pleased with me; no obstacle blocks my way. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਸ ॥
jaa kaa a(n)g dhiaal prabh taa ke sabh dhaas ||
One who has the Merciful Lord God on his side - everyone becomes his slave.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੩੦॥
sadhaa sadhaa vaddiaaieeaa naanak gur paas ||2||12||30||
Forever and ever, O Nanak, glorious greatness rests with the Guru. ||2||12||30||

ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਲੂ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ॥
mirat ma(n)ddal jag saajiaa jiau baaloo ghar baar ||
This perishable realm and world has been made like a house of sand.
ਬਿਨਸਤ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗਈ ਜਿਉ ਕਾਗਦ ਬੂੰਦਾਰ ॥੧॥
binasat baar na laagiee jiau kaagadh boo(n)dhaar ||1||
In no time at all, it is destroyed, like the paper drenched with water. ||1||
ਸੁਨਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਤਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
sun meree manasaa manai maeh sat dhekh beechaar ||
Listen to me, people: behold, and consider this within your mind.
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਜਿ ਗਏ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sidh saadhik girahee jogee taj ge ghar baar ||1|| rahaau ||
The Siddhas, the seekers, house-holders and Yogis have forsaken their homes and left. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈਸਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਰੈਨਿ ਕਾ ਤੈਸਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
jaisaa supanaa rain kaa taisaa sa(n)saar ||
This world is like a dream in the night.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਮਾਨ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਨਸੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਲਗਹਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੨॥
dhirasaTimaan sabh binaseeaai kiaa lageh gavaar ||2||
All that is seen shall perish. Why are you attached to it, you fool? ||2||
ਕਹਾ ਸੁ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਹੈ ਦੇਖੁ ਨੈਨ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥
kahaa su bhaiee meet hai dhekh nain pasaar ||
Where are your brothers and friends? Open your eyes and see!
ਇਕਿ ਚਾਲੇ ਇਕਿ ਚਾਲਸਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਵਾਰ ॥੩॥
eik chaale ik chaalaseh sabh apanee vaar ||3||
Some have gone, and some will go; everyone must take his turn. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸੇ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
jin pooraa satigur seviaa se asathir har dhuaar ||
Those who serve the Perfect True Guru, remain ever-stable at the Door of the Lord.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਰਾਖੁ ਪੈਜ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੧॥
jan naanak har kaa dhaas hai raakh paij muraar ||4||1||31||
Servant Nanak is the Lord's slave; preserve his honor, O Lord, Destroyer of ego. ||4||1||31||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਗਉ ॥
lokan keeaa vaddiaaieeaa baisa(n)tar paagau ||
The glories of the world, I cast into the fire.
ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਤੇ ਬੋਲ ਕਰਾਗਉ ॥੧॥
jiau milai piaaraa aapanaa te bol karaagau ||1||
I chant those words, by which I may meet my Beloved. ||1||
ਜਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਇ ਤਉ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਉ ॥
jau prabh jeeau dhiaal hoi tau bhagatee laagau ||
When God becomes Merciful, then He enjoins me to His devotional service.
ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਹ ਤਿਆਗਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
lapaT rahio man baasanaa gur mil ieh tiaagau ||1|| rahaau ||
My mind clings to worldly desires; meeting with the Guru, I have renounced them. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਅਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਮਾਗਉ ॥
karau benatee at ghanee ih jeeau homaagau ||
I pray with intense devotion, and offer this soul to Him.
ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਸਭਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਨਿਮਖ ਸੋਹਾਗਉ ॥੨॥
arath aan sabh vaariaa pria nimakh sohaagau ||2||
I would sacrifice all other riches, for a moment's union with my Beloved. ||2||
ਪੰਚ ਸੰਗੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਦੋਖ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਗਉ ॥
pa(n)ch sa(n)g gur te chhuTe dhokh ar raagau ||
Through the Guru, I am rid of the five villains, as well as emotional love and hate.
ਰਿਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਜਾਗਉ ॥੩॥
ridhai pragaas pragaT bhiaa nis baasur jaagau ||3||
My heart is illumined, and the Lord has become manifest; night and day, I remain awake and aware. ||3||
ਸਰਣਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਉ ॥
saran sohaagan aaiaa jis masatak bhaagau ||
The blessed soul-bride seeks His Sanctuary; her destiny is recorded on her forehead.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਗਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੩੨॥
kahu naanak tin paiaa tan man seetalaagau ||4||2||32||
Says Nanak, she obtains her Husband Lord; her body and mind are cooled and soothed. ||4||2||32||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਲਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥
laal ra(n)g tis kau lagaa jis ke vaddabhaagaa ||
One is dyed in the color of the Lord's Love, by great good fortune.
ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਹ ਲਾਗੈ ਦਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
mailaa kadhe na hoviee neh laagai dhaagaa ||1||
This color is never muddied; no stain ever sticks to it. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਈਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖ ਭਾਇ ॥
prabh paiaa sukhadhaieeaa miliaa sukh bhai ||
He finds God, the Giver of peace, with feelings of joy.
ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ਭੀਤਰੇ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sahaj samaanaa bheetare chhoddiaa neh jai ||1|| rahaau ||
The Celestial Lord blends into his soul, and he can never leave Him. ||1||Pause||
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਾ ਨਹ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jaraa maraa neh viaapiee fir dhookh na paiaa ||
Old age and death cannot touch him, and he shall not suffer pain again.
ਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਘਾਨਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
pee a(n)mrit aaghaaniaa gur amar karaiaa ||2||
Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar, he is satisfied; the Guru makes him immortal. ||2||
ਸੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਾ ॥
so jaanai jin chaakhiaa har naam amolaa ||
He alone knows its taste, who tastes the Priceless Name of the Lord.
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਾ ॥੩॥
keemat kahee na jaieeaai kiaa keh mukh bolaa ||3||
Its value cannot be estimated; what can I say with my mouth? ||3||
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
safal dharas teraa paarabraham gun nidh teree baanee ||
Fruitful is the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, O Supreme Lord God. The Word of Your Bani is the treasure of virtue.
