ਵਡੀ ਆਰਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
vaddee aarajaa har gobi(n)dh kee sookh ma(n)gal kaliaan beechaariaa ||1|| rahaau ||
He has blessed Hargobind with long life, and taken care of my comfort, happiness and well-being. ||1||Pause||
ਵਣ ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
van tiran tirabhavan hariaa hoe sagale jeea saadhaariaa ||
The forests, meadows and the three worlds have blossomed forth in greenery; He gives His Support to all beings.
ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੫॥੨੩॥
man ichhe naanak fal paae pooran ichh pujaariaa ||2||5||23||
Nanak has obtained the fruits of his mind's desires; his desires are totally fulfilled. ||2||5||23||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਜਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
jis uoopar hovat dhiaal ||
One who is blessed by the Lord's Mercy,
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਾਟੈ ਸੋ ਕਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har simarat kaaTai so kaal ||1|| rahaau ||
passes his time in contemplative meditation. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜੀਐ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ॥
saadhasa(n)g bhajeeaai gopaal ||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate, and vibrate upon the Lord of the Universe.
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਤੂਟੈ ਜਮ ਜਾਲੁ ॥੧॥
gun gaavat tooTai jam jaal ||1||
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the noose of death is cut away. ||1||
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
aape satigur aape pratipaal ||
He Himself is the True Guru, and He Himself is the Cherisher.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲ ॥੨॥੬॥੨੪॥
naanak jaachai saadh ravaal ||2||6||24||
Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||2||6||24||

ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਿੰਚਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
man meh si(n)chahu har har naam ||
Irrigate your mind with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ ॥੧॥
anadhin keeratan har gun gaam ||1||
Night and day, sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ||1||
ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
aaisee preet karahu man mere ||
Enshrine such love, O my mind,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aaTh pahar prabh jaanahu nere ||1|| rahaau ||
that twenty-four hours a day, God will seem near to you. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਾਗ ॥
kahu naanak jaa ke niramal bhaag ||
Says Nanak, one who has such immaculate destiny
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗ ॥੨॥੭॥੨੫॥
har charanee taa kaa man laag ||2||7||25||
- his mind is attached to the Lord's Feet. ||2||7||25||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
rog giaa prabh aap gavaiaa ||
The disease is gone; God Himself took it away.
ਨੀਦ ਪਈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਘਰੁ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
needh piee sukh sahaj ghar aaiaa ||1|| rahaau ||
I sleep in peace; peaceful poise has come to my home. ||1||Pause||
ਰਜਿ ਰਜਿ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਖਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
raj raj bhojan khaavahu mere bhaiee ||
Eat to your fill, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
a(n)mirat naam ridh maeh dhiaaiee ||1||
Meditate on the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, within your heart. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥
naanak gur poore saranaiee ||
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru,
ਜਿਨਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੮॥੨੬॥
jin apane naam kee paij rakhaiee ||2||8||26||
who has preserved the honor of His Name. ||2||8||26||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satigur kar dheene asathir ghar baar || rahaau ||
The True Guru has protected my hearth and home, and made them permanent. ||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਇਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਨ ਕੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਹੀ ਮਾਰੈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ॥੧॥
jo jo ni(n)dh karai in girahan kee tis aagai hee maarai karataar ||1||
Whoever slanders these homes, is pre-destined by the Creator Lord to be destroyed. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਈ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਖੰਡ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੭॥
naanak dhaas taa kee saranaiee jaa ko sabadh akha(n)dd apaar ||2||9||27||
Slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; the Word of His Shabad is unbreakable and infinite. ||2||9||27||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਤਾਪ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਸਗਲੇ ਗਏ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ॥
taap sa(n)taap sagale ge binase te rog ||
The fever and sickness are gone, and the diseases are all dispelled.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਤੂ ਬਖਸਿਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham too bakhasiaa sa(n)tan ras bhog || rahaau ||
The Supreme Lord God has forgiven you, so enjoy the happiness of the Saints. ||Pause||
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਆਰੋਗ ॥
sarab sukhaa teree ma(n)ddalee teraa man tan aarog ||
All joys have entered your world, and your mind and body are free of disease.
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਅਵਖਦ ਜੋਗ ॥੧॥
gun gaavahu nit raam ke ieh avakhadh jog ||1||
So chant continuously the Glorious Praises of the Lord; this is the only potent medicine. ||1||
ਆਇ ਬਸਹੁ ਘਰ ਦੇਸ ਮਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥
aai basahu ghar dhes meh ieh bhale sa(n)jog ||
So come, and dwell in your home and native land; this is such a blessed and auspicious occasion.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਲਹਿ ਗਏ ਬਿਓਗ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੨੮॥
naanak prabh suprasa(n)n bhe leh ge biog ||2||10||28||
O Nanak, God is totally pleased with you; your time of separation has come to an end. ||2||10||28||

ਕਾਹੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
kaahoo sa(n)g na chaalahee maiaa ja(n)jaal ||
The entanglements of Maya do not go along with anyone.
ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਖਿਆਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
uooTh sidhaare chhatrapat sa(n)tan kai khiaal || rahaau ||
Even kings and rulers must arise and depart, according to the wisdom of the Saints. ||Pause||
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਉ ਬਿਨਸਨਾ ਇਹ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਢਾਲ ॥
aha(n)budh kau binasanaa ieh dhur kee ddaal ||
Pride goes before the fall - this is a primal law.
ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥੧॥
bahu jonee janameh mareh bikhiaa bikaraal ||1||
Those who practice corruption and sin, are born into countless incarnations, only to die again. ||1||
ਸਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਕਹਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਜਪਹਿ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
sat bachan saadhoo kaheh nit japeh gupaal ||
The Holy Saints chant Words of Truth; they meditate continually on the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਰੰਗ ਲਾਲ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੨੯॥
simar simar naanak tare har ke ra(n)g laal ||2||11||29||
Meditating, meditating in remembrance, O Nanak, those who are imbued with the color of the Lord's Love are carried across. ||2||11||29||

The Perfect Guru has blessed me with celestial Samaadhi, bliss and peace.
ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਣ ਚੀਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadhaa sahaiee sa(n)g prabh a(n)mirat gun cheen || rahaau ||
God is always my Helper and Companion; I contemplate His Ambrosial Virtues. ||Pause||
