ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਨਹ ਜੋਹਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ta(n)t ma(n)t neh johiee tit chaakh na laagai ||1|| rahaau ||
He is not affected by charms and spells, nor is he harmed by the evil eye. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਦ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅਨਰਾਗੈ ॥
kaam karodh madh maan moh binase anaraagai ||
Sexual desire, anger, the intoxication of egotism and emotional attachment are dispelled, by loving devotion.
ਆਨੰਦ ਮਗਨ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਾਗੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੬੮॥
aana(n)dh magan ras raam ra(n)g naanak saranaagai ||2||4||68||
One who enters the Lord's Sanctuary, O Nanak, remains merged in ecstasy in the subtle essence of the Lord's Love. ||2||4||68||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੈ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
jeea jugat vas prabhoo kai jo kahai su karanaa ||
The living creatures and their ways are in God's power. Whatever He says, they do.
ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ਭਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
bhe prasa(n)n gopaal rai bhau kichh nahee karanaa ||1||
When the Sovereign Lord of the Universe is pleased, there is nothing at all to fear. ||1||
ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕਦੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥
dhookh na laagai kadhe tudh paarabraham chitaare ||
Pain shall never afflict you, if you remember the Supreme Lord God.
ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jamaka(n)kar neR na aaviee gursikh piaare ||1|| rahaau ||
The Messenger of Death does not even approach the beloved Sikhs of the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
karan kaaran samarath hai tis bin nahee hor ||
The All-powerful Lord is the Cause of causes; there is no other than Him.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee saachaa man jor ||2||5||69||
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God; the True Lord has given strength to the mind. ||2||5||69||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਨਾਠਾ ਦੁਖ ਠਾਉ ॥
simar simar prabh aapanaa naaThaa dhukh Thaau ||
Remembering, remembering my God in meditation, the house of pain is removed.
ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਪਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਧਾਉ ॥੧॥
bisraam paae mil saadhasa(n)g taa te bahuR na dhaau ||1||
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I have found peace and tranquility; I shall not wander away from there again. ||1||
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਨੇ ਚਰਨਨੑ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
balihaaree gur aapane charanan(h) bal jaau ||
I am devoted to my Guru; I am a sacrifice to His Feet.
ਅਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਨੇ ਪੇਖਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anadh sookh ma(n)gal bane pekhat gun gaau ||1|| rahaau ||
I am blessed with ecstasy, peace and happiness, gazing upon the Guru, and singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਰਾਗ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
kathaa keeratan raag naadh dhun ih banio suaau ||
This is my life's purpose, to sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and listen to the vibrations of the sound current of the Naad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥੬॥੭੦॥
naanak prabh suprasa(n)n bhe baa(n)chhat fal paau ||2||6||70||
O Nanak, God is totally pleased with me; I have obtained the fruits of my desires. ||2||6||70||

ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਰਿਦ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
dhaas tere kee benatee ridh kar paragaas ||
This is the prayer of Your slave: please enlighten my heart.
ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
tum(h)ree kirapaa te paarabraham dhokhan ko naas ||1||
By Your Mercy, O Supreme Lord God, please erase my sins. ||1||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
charan kamal kaa aasaraa prabh purakh gunataas ||
I take the Support of Your Lotus Feet, O God, Primal Lord, treasure of virtue.
ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹਉ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
keeratan naam simarat rahau jab lag ghaT saas ||1|| rahaau ||
I shall meditate in remembrance on the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as long as there is breath in my body. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
maat pitaa ba(n)dhap toohai too sarab nivaas ||
You are my mother, father and relative; You are abiding within all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee jaa ko niramal jaas ||2||7||71||
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; His Praise is immaculate and pure. ||2||7||71||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
bilaaval mahalaa panjavaa ||
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ਸਭਿ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਵਹਿ ॥
sarab sidh har gaieeaai sabh bhalaa manaaveh ||
All perfect spiritual powers are obtained, when one sings the Lord's Praises; everyone wishes him well.
ਸਾਧੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਦਾਸ ਮਿਲਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
saadh saadh mukh te kaheh sun dhaas milaaveh ||1||
Everyone calls him holy and spiritual; hearing of him, the Lord's slaves come to meet him. ||1||
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਰਸ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੑ ॥
sookh sahaj kaliaan ras poorai gur keen(h) ||
The Perfect Guru blesses him with peace, poise, salvation and happiness.
ਜੀਅ ਸਗਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੀਨੑ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jeea sagal dhiaal bhe har har naam cheen(h) ||1|| rahaau ||
All living beings become compassionate to him; he remembers the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥
poor rahio sarabatr meh prabh gunee gaheer ||
He is permeating and pervading everywhere; God is the ocean of virtue.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਧੀਰ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥
naanak bhagat aana(n)dh mai pekh prabh kee dheer ||2||8||72||
O Nanak, the devotees are in bliss, gazing upon God's abiding stability. ||2||8||72||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla:
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਦਾਤਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
aradhaas sunee dhaataar prabh hoe kirapaal ||
God, the Great Giver, has become merciful; He has listened to my prayer.
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਆ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
raakh leeaa apanaa sevako mukh ni(n)dhak chhaar ||1||
He has saved His servant, and put ashes into the mouth of the slanderer. ||1||
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ਕੋ ਮੀਤ ਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਾਸ ॥
tujheh na johai ko meet jan too(n) gur kaa dhaas ||
No one can threaten you now, O my humble friend, for you are the slave of the Guru.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham too raakhiaa dhe apane haath ||1|| rahaau ||
The Supreme Lord God reached out with His Hand and saved you. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਅਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਬੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
jeean kaa dhaataa ek hai beeaa nahee hor ||
The One Lord is the Giver of all beings; there is no other at all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥
naanak kee bena(n)teeaa mai teraa jor ||2||9||73||
Nanak prays, You are my only strength, God. ||2||9||73||

ਮੀਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਰਾਖੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
meet hamaare saajanaa raakhe govi(n)dh ||
The Lord of the Universe has saved my friends and companions.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਹੋਇ ਗਏ ਤੁਮੑ ਹੋਹੁ ਨਿਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ni(n)dhak mritak hoi ge tum(h) hoh nichi(n)dh ||1|| rahaau ||
The slanderers have died, so do not worry. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
sagal manorath prabh ke'ee bheTe gurdhev ||
God has fulfilled all hopes and desires; I have met the Divine Guru.
