Raamkalee, Fifth Mehla:
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਬੈਰੀ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
a(n)geekaar keeaa prabh apanai bairee sagale saadhe ||
God has made me His own, and vanquished all my enemies.
ਜਿਨਿ ਬੈਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਲੂਟਿਆ ਤੇ ਬੈਰੀ ਲੈ ਬਾਧੇ ॥੧॥
jin bairee hai ih jag looTiaa te bairee lai baadhe ||1||
Those enemies who have plundered this world, have all been placed in bondage. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
satigur paramesar meraa ||
The True Guru is my Transcendent Lord.
ਅਨਿਕ ਰਾਜ ਭੋਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੀ ਨਾਉ ਜਪੀ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anik raaj bhog ras maanee naau japee bharavaasaa teraa ||1|| rahaau ||
I enjoy countless pleasures of power and tasty delights, chanting Your Name, and placing my faith in You. ||1||Pause||
ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਸਿ ਦੂਜੀ ਬਾਤਾ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥
cheet na aavas dhoojee baataa sir uoopar rakhavaaraa ||
I do not think of any other at all. The Lord is my protector, above my head.
ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਰਹਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
beparavaahu rahat hai suaamee ik naam kai aadhaaraa ||2||
I am carefree and independent, when I have the Support of Your Name, O my Lord and Master. ||2||
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਊਨ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਬਾਤਾ ॥
pooran hoi milio sukhadhaiee uoon na kaiee baataa ||
I have become perfect, meeting with the Giver of peace, and now, I lack nothing at all.
ਤਤੁ ਸਾਰੁ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
tat saar param padh paiaa chhodd na katahoo jaataa ||3||
I have obtained the essence of excellence, the supreme status; I shall not forsake it to go anywhere else. ||3||
ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਜੈਸਾ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
baran na saakau jaisaa too hai saache alakh apaaraa ||
I cannot describe how You are, O True Lord, unseen, infinite,
ਅਤੁਲ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਡੋਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
atul athaeh addol suaamee naanak khasam hamaaraa ||4||5||
immeasurable, unfathomable and unmoving Lord. O Nanak, He is my Lord and Master. ||4||5||

ਤੂ ਦਾਨਾ ਤੂ ਅਬਿਚਲੁ ਤੂਹੀ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਾਤੀ ॥
too dhaanaa too abichal toohee too jaat meree paatee ||
You are wise; You are eternal and unchanging. You are my social class and honor.
ਤੂ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਕਦੇ ਡੋਲਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾ ਹਮ ਕੈਸੀ ਤਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
too addol kadhe ddoleh naahee taa ham kaisee taatee ||1||
You are unmoving - You never move at all. How can I be worried? ||1||
ਏਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਏਕ ਤੂਹੀ ॥
ekai ekai ek toohee ||
You alone are the One and only Lord;
ਏਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
ekai ekai too raiaa ||
You alone are the king.
ਤਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tau kirapaa te sukh paiaa ||1|| rahaau ||
By Your Grace, I have found peace. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਹਮ ਹੰਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਣਕ ਲਾਲਾ ॥
too saagar ham ha(n)s tumaare tum meh maanak laalaa ||
You are the ocean, and I am Your swan; the pearls and rubies are in You.
ਤੁਮ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਸੰਕ ਨ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਹਮ ਭੁੰਚਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
tum dhevahu til sa(n)k na maanahu ham bhu(n)cheh sadhaa nihaalaa ||2||
You give, and You do not hesitate for an instant; I receive, forever enraptured. ||2||
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੁਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਖੀਰਾ ॥
ham baarik tum pitaa hamaare tum mukh dhevahu kheeraa ||
I am Your child, and You are my father; You place the milk in my mouth.
ਹਮ ਖੇਲਹ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਡ ਲਡਾਵਹ ਤੁਮ ਸਦ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੩॥
ham kheleh sabh laadd laddaaveh tum sadh gunee gaheeraa ||3||
I play with You, and You caress me in every way. You are forever the ocean of excellence. ||3||
ਤੁਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹਮ ਭੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਘਾਏ ॥
tum pooran poor rahe sa(n)pooran ham bhee sa(n)g aghaae ||
You are perfect, perfectly all-pervading; I am fulfilled with You as well.
ਮਿਲਤ ਮਿਲਤ ਮਿਲਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥੪॥੬॥
milat milat milat mil rahiaa naanak kahan na jaae ||4||6||
I am merged, merged, merged and remain merged; O Nanak, I cannot describe it! ||4||6||

ਕਰ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਲ ਪਖਾਵਜੁ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਮਾਥੈ ਵਜਹਿ ਰਬਾਬਾ ॥
kar kar taal pakhaavaj nainahu maathai vajeh rabaabaa ||
Make your hands the cymbals, your eyes the tambourines, and your forehead the guitar you play.
ਕਰਨਹੁ ਮਧੁ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਬਾਜੈ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਆਗਾਜਾ ॥
karanahu madh baasuree baajai jihavaa dhun aagaajaa ||
Let the sweet flute music resound in your ears, and with your tongue, vibrate this song.
ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਨਾਚੈ ਆਣੇ ਘੂਘਰ ਸਾਜਾ ॥੧॥
nirat kare kar manooaa naachai aane ghooghar saajaa ||1||
Move your mind like the rhythmic hand-motions; do the dance, and shake your ankle bracelets. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਤਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
raam ko niratikaaree ||
This is the rhythmic dance of the Lord.
ਪੇਖੈ ਪੇਖਨਹਾਰੁ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੇਤਾ ਸਾਜੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pekhai pekhanahaar dhiaalaa jetaa saaj seegaaree ||1|| rahaau ||
The Merciful Audience, the Lord, sees all your make-up and decorations. ||1||Pause||
ਆਖਾਰ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਧਰਣਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਊਪਰਿ ਗਗਨੁ ਚੰਦੋਆ ॥
aakhaar ma(n)ddalee dharan sabaiee uoopar gagan cha(n)dhoaa ||
The whole earth is the stage, with the canopy of the sky overhead.
ਪਵਨੁ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਕਰਤ ਇਕੇਲਾ ਜਲ ਤੇ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਆ ॥
pavan vicholaa karat ikelaa jal te opat hoaa ||
The wind is the director; people are born of water.
ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੁਤਰਾ ਕੀਨਾ ਕਿਰਤ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਆ ॥੨॥
pa(n)ch tat kar putaraa keenaa kirat milaavaa hoaa ||2||
From the five elements, the puppet was created with its actions. ||2||
ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਜਰੇ ਚਰਾਗਾ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
cha(n)dh sooraj dhui jare charaagaa chahu ku(n)T bheetar raakhe ||
The sun and the moon are the two lamps which shine, with the four corners of the world placed between them.
ਦਸ ਪਾਤਉ ਪੰਚ ਸੰਗੀਤਾ ਏਕੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਾਥੇ ॥
dhas paatau pa(n)ch sa(n)geetaa ekai bheetar saathe ||
The ten senses are the dancing girls, and the five passions are the chorus; they sit together within the one body.
ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਹੋਇ ਭਾਵ ਦਿਖਾਵਹਿ ਸਭਹੁ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ਭਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
bhi(n)n bhi(n)n hoi bhaav dhikhaaveh sabhahu niraaree bhaakhe ||3||
They all put on their own shows, and speak in different languages. ||3||
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਾਜੈ ਤੂਰਾ ॥
ghar ghar nirat hovai dhin raatee ghaT ghaT vaajai tooraa ||
In each and every home there is dancing, day and night; in each and every home, the bugles blow.
ਏਕਿ ਨਚਾਵਹਿ ਏਕਿ ਭਵਾਵਹਿ ਇਕਿ ਆਇ ਜਾਇ ਹੋਇ ਧੂਰਾ ॥
ek nachaaveh ek bhavaaveh ik aai jai hoi dhooraa ||
Some are made to dance, and some are whirled around; some come and some go, and some are reduced to dust.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਨਾਚੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੪॥੭॥
kahu naanak so bahur na naachai jis gur bheTai pooraa ||4||7||
Says Nanak, one who meets with the True Guru, does not have to dance the dance of reincarnation again. ||4||7||
