ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ek naam vasiaa ghaT a(n)tar poore kee vaddiaaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
The One Name abides deep within my heart; such is the glorious greatness of the Perfect Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਦੇਦਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਬਾਈ ॥੨॥
aape karataa aape bhugataa dhedhaa rijak sabaiee ||2||
He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself is the Enjoyer. He Himself gives sustenance to all. ||2||
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
jo kichh karanaa so kar rahiaa avar na karanaa jaiee ||3||
Whatever He wants to do, He is doing; no one else can do anything. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਈ ॥੪॥
aape saaje sirasaT upaae sir sir dha(n)dhai laiee ||4||
He Himself fashions and creates the creation; He links each and every person to their task. ||4||
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਰੇਵਹੁ ਤਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੫॥
tiseh sarevahu taa sukh paavahu satigur mel milaiee ||5||
If you serve Him, then you will find peace; the True Guru will unite you in His Union. ||5||
ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥੬॥
aapanaa aap aap upaae alakh na lakhanaa jaiee ||6||
The Lord Himself creates Himself; the Unseen Lord cannot be seen. ||6||
ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਆਪੇ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਈ ॥੭॥
aape maar jeevaale aape tis no til na tamaiee ||7||
He Himself kills, and brings back to life; He does not have even an iota of greed. ||7||
ਇਕਿ ਦਾਤੇ ਇਕਿ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੮॥
eik dhaate ik ma(n)gate keete aape bhagat karaiee ||8||
Some are made givers, and some are made beggars; He Himself inspires us to devotional worship. ||8||
ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਸਚੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੯॥
se vaddabhaagee jinee eko jaataa sache rahe samaiee ||9||
Those who know the One Lord are very fortunate; they remain absorbed in the True Lord. ||9||
ਆਪਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੦॥
aap saroop siaanaa aape keemat kahan na jaiee ||10||
He Himself is beautiful, He Himself is wise and clever; His worth cannot be expressed. ||10||
ਆਪੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
aape dhukh sukh paae a(n)tar aape bharam bhulaiee ||11||
He Himself infuses pain and pleasure; He Himself makes them wander around in doubt. ||11||
ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਨਿਗੁਰੀ ਅੰਧ ਫਿਰੈ ਲੋਕਾਈ ॥੧੨॥
vaddaa dhaataa gurmukh jaataa niguree a(n)dh firai lokaiee ||12||
The Great Giver is revealed to the Gurmukh; without the Guru, the world wanders in darkness. ||12||
ਜਿਨੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਾਦੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧੩॥
jinee chaakhiaa tinaa saadh aaiaa satigur boojh bujhaiee ||13||
Those who taste, enjoy the flavor; the True Guru imparts this understanding. ||13||
ਇਕਨਾ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਇਕਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧੪॥
eikanaa naavahu aap bhulaae ikanaa gurmukh dhei bujhaiee ||14||
Some, the Lord causes to forget and lose the Name; others become Gurmukh, and are granted this understanding. ||14||
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਹੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੧੫॥
sadhaa sadhaa saalaahih sa(n)tahu tis dhee vaddee vaddiaaiee ||15||
Forever and ever, praise the Lord, O Saints; how glorious is His greatness! ||15||
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਰਿ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
tis bin avar na koiee raajaa kar tapaavas banat banaiee ||16||
There is no other King except Him; He administers justice, as He has made it. ||16||
ਨਿਆਉ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
niaau tisai kaa hai sadh saachaa virale hukam manaiee ||17||
His justice is always True; how rare are those who accept His Command. ||17||
ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੧੮॥
tis no praanee sadhaa dhiaavahu jin gurmukh banat banaiee ||18||
O mortal, meditate forever on the Lord, who has made the Gurmukh in His making. ||18||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸੀਝੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੧੯॥
satigur bheTai so jan seejhai jis hiradhai naam vasaiee ||19||
That humble being who meets with the True Guru is fulfilled; the Naam abides in his heart. ||19||
ਸਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
sachaa aap sadhaa hai saachaa baanee sabadh sunaiee ||20||
The True Lord is Himself forever True; He announces His Bani, the Word of His Shabad. ||20||
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਥਾਈ ॥੨੧॥੫॥੧੪॥
naanak sun vekh rahiaa visamaadh meraa prabh raviaa srab thaiee ||21||5||14||
Nanak is wonderstruck, hearing and seeing His Lord; my God is all-pervading, everywhere. ||21||5||14||

ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਪਰਵਿਰਤਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
kinahee keeaa paravirat pasaaraa ||
Some make a big show of their worldly influence.
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਪੂਜਾ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥
kinahee keeaa poojaa bisathaaraa ||
Some make a big show of devotional worship.
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਨਿਵਲ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਮ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
kinahee nival bhuia(n)gam saadhe ||
Some practice inner cleansing teahniques, and control the breath through Kundalini Yoga.
ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥੧॥
moh dheen har har aaraadhe ||1||
I am meek; I worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
teraa bharosaa piaare ||
I place my faith in You alone, O Beloved Lord.
ਆਨ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਵੇਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aan na jaanaa vesaa ||1|| rahaau ||
I do not know any other way. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਵਣ ਖੰਡਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kinahee girahu taj van kha(n)dd paiaa ||
Some abandon their homes, and live in the forests.
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਮੋਨਿ ਅਉਧੂਤੁ ਸਦਾਇਆ ॥
kinahee mon aaudhoot sadhaiaa ||
Some put themselves on silence, and call themselves hermits.
ਕੋਈ ਕਹਤਉ ਅਨੰਨਿ ਭਗਉਤੀ ॥
koiee kahatau ana(n)n bhagautee ||
Some claim that they are devotees of the One Lord alone.
ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਓਟ ਲੀਤੀ ॥੨॥
moh dheen har har oT leetee ||2||
I am meek; I seek the shelter and support of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕਹਿਆ ਹਉ ਤੀਰਥ ਵਾਸੀ ॥
kinahee kahiaa hau teerath vaasee ||
Some say that they live at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਕੋਈ ਅੰਨੁ ਤਜਿ ਭਇਆ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
koiee a(n)n taj bhiaa udhaasee ||
Some refuse food and become Udaasis, shaven-headed renunciates.
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਭਵਨੁ ਸਭ ਧਰਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ॥
kinahee bhavan sabh dharatee kariaa ||
Some have wandered all across the earth.
ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
moh dheen har har dhar pariaa ||3||
I am meek; I have fallen at the door of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਕਿਨਹੀ ਕਹਿਆ ਮੈ ਕੁਲਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
kinahee kahiaa mai kuleh vaddiaaiee ||
Some say that they belong to great and noble families.
