ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟ ॥
mere man har bhaj sabh kilabikh kaaT ||
O my mind, meditate, vibrate on the Lord, and all sins will be eradicated.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੀਸੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਵਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har ur dhaario gur poorai meraa sees keejai gur vaaT ||1|| rahaau ||
The Guru has enshried the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; I place my head on the Guru's Path. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥
mere har prabh kee mai baat sunaavai tis man dhevau kaT kaaT ||
Whoever tells me the stories of my Lord God, I would cut my mind into slices, and dedicate it to him.
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਬਿਕਾਨੋ ਹਟਿ ਹਾਟ ॥੧॥
har saajan melio gur poorai gur bachan bikaano haT haaT ||1||
The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, my Friend; I have sold myself at each and every store for the Guru's Word. ||1||
ਮਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਗਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਅਧ ਕਾਟਿ ॥
makar praag dhaan bahu keeaa sareer dheeo adh kaaT ||
One may give donations in charity at Prayaag, and cut the body in two at Benares,
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥੨॥
bin har naam ko mukat na paavai bahu ka(n)chan dheejai kaT kaaT ||2||
but without the Lord's Name, no one attains liberation, even though one may give away huge amounts of gold. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਘਰੇ ਕਪਟ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
har keerat gurmat jas gaio man ughare kapaT kapaaT ||
When one follows the Guru's Teachings, and sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, the doors of the mind, held shut by deception, are thrown open again.
ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਫੋਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਲਜ ਭਾਨੀ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੩॥
tirakuTee for bharam bhau bhaagaa laj bhaanee maTukee maaT ||3||
The three qualities are shattered, doubt and fear run away, and the clay pot of public opinion is broken. ||3||
ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਲਿਲਾਟ ॥
kalajug gur pooraa tin paiaa jin dhur masatak likhe lilaaT ||
They alone find the Perfect Guru in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, upon whose foreheads such pre-ordained destiny is inscribed.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਸਭ ਲਾਥੀ ਭੂਖ ਤਿਖਾਟ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak ras a(n)mrit peeaa sabh laathee bhookh tikhaaT ||4||6||
Servant Nanak drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar; all his hunger and thirst are quenched. ||4||6||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਟਹਲ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰ ॥
re man Tahal har sukh saar ||
O mind, true peace comes from serving the Lord.
ਅਵਰ ਟਹਲਾ ਝੂਠੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਕਰੈ ਜਮੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avar Tahalaa jhooTheeaa nit karai jam sir maar ||1|| rahaau ||
Other services are false, and as punishment for them, the Messenger of Death bashes in one's head. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੀਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਗਾਰ ॥
jinaa masatak leekhiaa te mile sa(n)gaar ||
They alone join the Sangat, the Congregation, upon whose forehead such destiny is inscribed.
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥
sa(n)saar bhaujal taariaa har sa(n)t purakh apaar ||1||
They are carried across the terrifying world-ocean by the Saints of the Infinite, Primal Lord God. ||1||
ਨਿਤ ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਤਜਿ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
nit charan sevahu saadh ke taj lobh moh bikaar ||
Serve forever at the feet of the Holy; renounce greed, emotional attachment and corruption.
ਸਭ ਤਜਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸੜੀ ਰਖੁ ਆਸ ਇਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੨॥
sabh tajahu dhoojee aasaRee rakh aas ik nira(n)kaar ||2||
Abandon all other hopes, and rest your hopes in the One Formless Lord. ||2||
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਾਕਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧ ਅੰਧਾਰ ॥
eik bharam bhoole saakataa bin gur a(n)dh a(n)dhaar ||
Some are faithless cynics, deluded by doubt; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.
ਧੁਰਿ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ ॥੩॥
dhur hovanaa su hoiaa ko na meTanahaar ||3||
Whatever is pre-ordained, comes to pass; no one can erase it. ||3||
ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
agam roop gobi(n)dh kaa anik naam apaar ||
The beauty of the Lord of the Universe is profound and unfathomable; the Names of the Infinite Lord are immunerable.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੧॥
dhan dha(n)n te jan naanakaa jin har naamaa ur dhaar ||4||1||
Blessed, blessed are those humble beings, O Nanak, who enshrine the Lord's Name in their hearts. ||4||1||
ਮਾਲੀ ਗਉੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Maalee Gauraa, Fifth Mehla:
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥
raam naam kau namasakaar ||
I humbly bow to the Name of the Lord.
ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaas japat hovat udhaar ||1|| rahaau ||
Chanting it, one is saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਧੰਧ ॥
jaa kai simaran miTeh dha(n)dh ||
Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਬੰਧ ॥
jaa kai simaran chhooTeh ba(n)dh ||
Meditating on Him, one's bonds are untied.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਚਤੁਰ ॥
jaa kai simaran moorakh chatur ||
Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕੁਲਹ ਉਧਰ ॥੧॥
jaa kai simaran kuleh udhar ||1||
Meditating on Him, one's ancestors are saved. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੈ ॥
jaa kai simaran bhau dhukh harai ||
Meditating on Him, fear and pain are taken away.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੈ ॥
jaa kai simaran apadhaa Tarai ||
Meditating on Him, misfortune is avoided.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੁਚਤ ਪਾਪ ॥
jaa kai simaran muchat paap ||
Meditating on Him, sins are erased.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
jaa kai simaran nahee sa(n)taap ||2||
Meditating on Him, agony is ended. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਦ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
jaa kai simaran ridh bigaas ||
Meditating on Him, the heart blossoms forth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਵਲਾ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
jaa kai simaran kavalaa dhaas ||
Meditating on Him, Maya becomes one's slave.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
jaa kai simaran nidh nidhaan ||
Meditating on Him, one is blessed with the treasures of wealth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤਰੇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥
jaa kai simaran tare nidhaan ||3||
Meditating on Him, one crosses over in the end. ||3||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥
patit paavan naam haree ||
The Name of the Lord is the Purifier of sinners.
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਗਤ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਕਰੀ ॥
koT bhagat udhaar karee ||
It saves millions of devotees.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਾ ਦੀਨੁ ਸਰਨ ॥
har dhaas dhaasaa dheen saran ||
I am meek; I seek the Sanctuary of the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak maathaa sa(n)t charan ||4||2||
Nanak lays his forehead on the feet of the Saints. ||4||2||

ਐਸੋ ਸਹਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥

This is the sort of helper the Name of the Lord is.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhasa(n)gat bhaj pooran kaam ||1|| rahaau ||
Meditating in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one's affairs are perfectly resolved. ||1||Pause||
ਬੂਡਤ ਕਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਬੇੜੀ ਮਿਲਤ ॥
booddat kau jaise beRee milat ||
It is like a boat to a drowning man.
