ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
gurmukhaa man parateet hai gur poorai naam samaanee ||1||
The minds of the Gurmukhs are filled with faith; through the Perfect Guru, they merge in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
man mere mai har har kathaa man bhaanee ||
O my mind, the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, is pleasing to my mind.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har kathaa nit sadhaa kar gurmukh akath kahaanee ||1|| rahaau ||
Continually and forever, speak the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har; as Gurmukh, speak the Unspoken Speech. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
mai man tan khoj dda(n)ddoliaa kiau paieeaai akath kahaanee ||
I have searched through and through my mind and body; how can I attain this Unspoken Speech?
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
sa(n)t janaa mil paiaa sun akath kathaa man bhaanee ||
Meeting with the humble Saints, I have found it; listening to the Unspoken Speech, my mind is pleased.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
merai man tan naam adhaar har mai mele purakh sujaanee ||2||
The Lord's Name is the Support of my mind and body; I am united with the all-knowing Primal Lord God. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
gur purakhai purakh milai prabh mil suratee surat samaanee ||
The Guru, the Primal Being, has united me with the Primal Lord God. My consciousness has merged into the supreme consciousness.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
vaddabhaagee gur seviaa har paiaa sughaR sujaanee ||
By great good fortune, I serve the Guru, and I have found my Lord, all-wise and all-knowing.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
manmukh bhaag vihooniaa tin dhukhee rain vihaanee ||3||
The self-willed manmukhs are very unfortunate; they pass their life-night in misery and pain. ||3||
ਹਮ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਿਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
ham jaachik dheen prabh teriaa mukh dheejai a(n)mirat baanee ||
I am just a meek beggar at Your Door, God; please, place the Ambrosial Word of Your Bani in my mouth.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
satigur meraa mitr prabh har melahu sughaR sujaanee ||
The True Guru is my friend; He unites me with my all-wise, all-knowing Lord God.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥
jan naanak saranaagatee kar kirapaa naam samaanee ||4||3||5||
Servant Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary; grant Your Grace, and merge me into Your Name. ||4||3||5||
ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
maaroo mahalaa chauthhaa ||
Maaroo, Fourth Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਲਗਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
har bhaau lagaa bairaageeaa vaddabhaagee har man raakh ||
Detached from the world, I am in love with the Lord; by great good fortune, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਊਪਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
mil sa(n)gat saradhaa uoopajai gur sabadhee har ras chaakh ||
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, faith has welled up within me; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I taste the sublime essence of the Lord.
ਸਭੁ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੧॥
sabh man tan hariaa hoiaa gurbaanee har gun bhaakh ||1||
My mind and body have totally blossomed forth; through the Word of the Guru's Bani, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
man piaariaa mitraa har har naam ras chaakh ||
O my beloved mind, my friend, taste the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai har paiaa halat palat pat raakh ||1|| rahaau ||
Through the Perfect Guru, I have found the Lord, who saves my honor, here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
har har naam dhiaaieeaai har keerat gurmukh chaakh ||
Meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; as Gurmukh, taste the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਤਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਜੀਐ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
tan dharatee har beejeeaai vich sa(n)gat har prabh raakh ||
Plant the seed of the Lord in the body-farm. The Lord God is enshrined within the Sangat, the Holy Congregation.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥੨॥
a(n)mrit har har naam hai gur poorai har ras chaakh ||2||
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Ambrosial Nectar. Through the Perfect Guru, taste the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਾ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਬਹੁ ਲਾਖੁ ॥
manmukh tirasanaa bhar rahe man aasaa dheh dhis bahu laakh ||
The self-willed manmukhs are filled with hunger and thirst; their minds run around in the ten directions, hoping for great wealth.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
bin naavai dhirag jeevadhe vich bisaTaa manmukh raakh ||
Without the Name of the Lord, their life is cursed; the manmukhs are stuck in manure.
ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੩॥
oi aaveh jaeh bhavaie'eeh bahu jonee dhuraga(n)dh bhaakh ||3||
They come and go, and are consigned to wander through uncounted incarnations, eating stinking rot. ||3||
ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
traeh traeh saranaagatee har dhiaa dhaar prabh raakh ||
Begging, imploring, I seek Your Sanctuary; Lord, shower me with Your Mercy, and save me, God.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਪੁ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਾਖੁ ॥
sa(n)tasa(n)gat melaap kar har naam milai pat saakh ||
Lead me to join the Society of the Saints, and bless me with the honor and glory of the Lord's Name.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੬॥
har har naam dhan paiaa jan naanak gurmat bhaakh ||4||4||6||
I have obtained the wealth of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; servant Nanak chants the Lord's Name, through the Guru's Teachings. ||4||4||6||

Maaroo, Fourth Mehla, Fifth House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ikOankaar satigur prasaadh ||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
har har bhagat bhare bha(n)ddaaraa ||
Devotional worship to the Lord, Har, Har, is an overflowing treasure.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥
gurmukh raam kare nisataaraa ||
The Gurmukh is emancipated by the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
jis no kirapaa kare meraa suaamee so har ke gun gaavai jeeau ||1||
One who is blessed by the Mercy of my Lord and Master sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਬਨਵਾਲੀ ॥
har har kirapaa kare banavaalee ||
O Lord, Har, Har, take pity on me,
ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
har hiradhai sadhaa sadhaa samaalee ||
that within my heart, I may dwell upon You, Lord, forever and ever.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam japahu mere jeeaRe jap har har naam chhaddaavai jeeau ||1|| rahaau ||
Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my soul; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, you shall be emancipated. ||1||Pause||
