ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਰਾਜੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
nihachal raaj sadhaa har keraa tis bin avar na koiee raam ||
The Kingdom of the Lord is permanent, and forever unchanging; there is no other than Him.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
tis bin avar na koiee sadhaa sach soiee gurmukh eko jaaniaa ||
There is no other than Him - He is True forever; the Gurmukh knows the One Lord.
ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
dhan pir melaavaa hoaa gurmatee man maaniaa ||
That soul-bride, whose mind accepts the Guru's Teachings, meets her Husband Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
satigur miliaa taa har paiaa bin har naavai mukat na hoiee ||
Meeting the True Guru, she finds the Lord; without the Lord's Name, there is no liberation.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕੰਤੈ ਰਾਵੇ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
naanak kaaman ka(n)tai raave man maaniaai sukh hoiee ||1||
O Nanak, the soul-bride ravishes and enjoys her Husband Lord; her mind accepts Him, and she finds peace. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਧਨ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
satigur sev dhan baalaRe'e har var paaveh soiee raam ||
Serve the True Guru, O young and innocent bride; thus you shall obtain the Lord as your Husband.
ਸਦਾ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
sadhaa hoveh sohaaganee fir mailaa ves na hoiee raam ||
You shall be the virtuous and happy bride of the True Lord forever; and you shall never again wear soiled clothes.
ਫਿਰਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥
fir mailaa ves na hoiee gurmukh boojhai koiee haumai maar pachhaaniaa ||
Your clothes shall never again be soiled; how rare are those few, who, as Gurmukh, recognize this, and conquer their ego.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
karanee kaar kamaavai sabadh samaavai a(n)tar eko jaaniaa ||
So make your practice the practice of good deeds; merge into the Word of the Shabad, and deep within, come to know the One Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਚੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
gurmukh prabh raave dhin raatee aapanaa saachee sobhaa hoiee ||
The Gurmukh enjoys God, day and night, and so obtains true glory.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
naanak kaaman pir raave aapanaa rav rahiaa prabh soiee ||2||
O Nanak, the soul-bride enjoys and ravishes her Beloved; God is pervading and permeating everywhere. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਧਨ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
gur kee kaar kare dhan baalaRe'e har var dhei milaae raam ||
Serve the Guru, O young and innocent soul-bride, and he will lead to you meet your Husband Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
har kai ra(n)g ratee hai kaaman mil preetam sukh paae raam ||
The bride is imbued with the Love of her Lord; meeting with her Beloved, she finds peace.
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥
mil preetam sukh paae sach samaae sach varatai sabh thaiee ||
Meeting her Beloved, she finds peace, and merges in the True Lord; the True Lord is pervading everywhere.
ਸਚਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
sachaa seegaar kare dhin raatee kaaman sach samaiee ||
The bride makes Truth her decorations, day and night, and remains absorbed in the True Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਲਇਆ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ॥
har sukhadhaataa sabadh pachhaataa kaaman liaa ka(n)Th laae ||
The Lord, the Giver of peace, is realized through His Shabad; He hugs His bride close in His embrace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਹਲੀ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥
naanak mahalee mahal pachhaanai gurmatee har paae ||3||
O Nanak, the bride obtains the Mansion of His Presence; through the Guru's Teachings, she finds her Lord. ||3||
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਬਾਲੀ ਧੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
saa dhan baalee dhur melee merai prabh aap milaiee raam ||
The Primal Lord, my God, has united His young and innocent bride with Himself.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmatee ghaT chaanan hoaa prabh rav rahiaa sabh thaiee raam ||
Through the Guru's Teachings, her heart is illumined and enlightened; God is permeating and pervading everywhere.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
prabh rav rahiaa sabh thaiee ma(n)n vasaiee poorab likhiaa paiaa ||
God is permeating and pervading everywhere; He dwells in her mind, and she realizes her pre-ordained destiny.
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥
sej sukhaalee mere prabh bhaanee sach seegaar banaiaa ||
On his cozy bed, she is pleasing to my God; she fashions her decorations of Truth.
ਕਾਮਣਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
kaaman niramal haumai mal khoiee gurmat sach samaiee ||
The bride is immaculate and pure; she washes away the filth of egotism, and through the Guru's Teachings, she merges in the True Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਕਰਤੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੩॥੪॥
naanak aap milaiee karatai naam navai nidh paiee ||4||3||4||
O Nanak, the Creator Lord blends her into Himself, and she obtains the nine treasure of the Naam. ||4||3||4||
ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
soohee mahalaa teejaa ||
Soohee, Third Mehla:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
har hare har gun gaavahu har gurmukhe paae raam ||
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har; the Gurmukh obtains the Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਵਹੁ ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
anadhino sabadh ravahu anahadh sabadh vajaae raam ||
Night and day, chant the Word of the Shabad; night and day, the Shabad shall vibrate and resound.
ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
anahadh sabadh vajaae har jeeau ghar aae har gun gaavahu naaree ||
The unstruck melody of the Shabad vibrates, and the Dear Lord comes into the home of my heart; O ladies, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
anadhin bhagat kareh gur aagai saa dhan ka(n)t piaaree ||
That soul-bride, who performs devotional worship service to the Guru night and day, becomes the Beloved bride of her Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
gur kaa sabadh vasiaa ghaT a(n)tar se jan sabadh suhaae ||
Those humble beings, whose hearts are filled with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, are adorned with the Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਘਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥੧॥
naanak tin ghar sadh hee sohilaa har kar kirapaa ghar aae ||1||
O Nanak, their hearts are forever filled with happiness; the Lord, in His Mercy, enters into their hearts. ||1||
ਭਗਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhagataa man aana(n)dh bhiaa har naam rahe liv laae raam ||
The minds of the devotees are filled with bliss; they remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord's Name.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmukhe man niramal hoaa niramal har gun gaae raam ||
The mind of the Gurmukh is immaculate and pure; she sings the Immaculate Praises of the Lord.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
niramal gun gaae naam ma(n)n vasaae har kee a(n)mirat baanee ||
Singing His Immaculate Praises, she enshrines in her mind the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and the Ambrosial Word of His Bani.
ਜਿਨੑ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੇਈ ਜਨ ਨਿਸਤਰੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
jin(h) man vasiaa seiee jan nisatare ghaT ghaT sabadh samaanee ||
Those humble beings, within whose minds it abides, are emancipated; the Shabad permeates each and every heart.
